A bit questionable that that's something I'd want to pretend. Besides, I've always figured I can do my part by making it clear that someone with only one hand could do much more than I could. [Still, he's vaguely committed himself so he will show up.]
[Deadpan as ever. He does show up after lunch - or as he usually thinks of it, basically breakfast - slouching at the edge of the counseling offices. They make him uncomfortable.]
Crozier's waiting, not in one of the offices but in the reception area where he's kept the plants for himself and Kiryu. When Fitz arrives he hands him a watering can and gestures to the other side of the desk where the other plants await.
Fitz takes the watering can, dryly amused for a moment at the familiarity of it. He's not a passionate gardener, but he more than knows what he's doing in the face of basic care of plants.
"Nothing pressing got in the way. More proof that we need a radio or something around here."
"Short story? A wedding. The long story includes messing about with time, secret societies of real dickheads - as if there's ever a different type of secret society, demon-apes breaking through into the world, a really fancy brothel and a, still, a wedding."
"No idea. We crashed it for other reasons. From what I picked up - between the screaming and the bridesmaids, they'd both been cheating on each other and, despite what some songs suggest, that didn't bring them together. Mother of the groom had some serious liquor ready to be pulled out, so I think she might have suspected something."
"A lot of weird shit is sacred, so that might fit."
He slouches over, starting on the plants. "Anyway, it was better than the state wedding we ended up at. Sixteen courses are about fifteen courses too much. And everyone was so chillingly polite that you really wished they'd start screaming."
"Sounds like my personal Hell," he mutters. "Those kinds of social events caused most of my premature graying. If I had to remember one more title I was going to punch someone."
"I'd usually slowly slide under the table, but it was sixteen courses free of any sort of alcoholic beverage. I did consider just leaving the Doctor have fun in prison around course six, but I had the always mistaken idea that it couldn't get worse."
"And by course ten you were already in too deep to quit, I assume."
The Doctor. He's heard of this person, in a vague sort of way. They get mentioned here and there by people in conversation, and while he doesn't know much, he is aware that he's not an actual physician.
