If Fitz had been trying to pretend he didn't have a certain interest in her ability to lift him with no apparent effort, it would be a wasted effort. That's one point for honesty, he supposes.
"Where do you want to start?" Taura wonders. She tries, but doesn't quite
succeed in keeping her gaze from straying toward the bedroom. The tour is
likely to get derailed there for quite awhile, she thinks. Which could be
an argument for or against starting there.
"The bedroom. As if I could think of anything else after that
kiss." And after the suppressed lust she can still feel coming off of
Fitz, shoved aside so he can politely appreciate her interior
decorating. She isn't even bothering trying to suppress anything at
this point.
She heads that direction, opening the door to reveal the
room (with its glimpse of a matching
bathroom through a set of pink and white sliding doors) "I'm not
wearing it anymore, but that's still my favorite shade of pink."
"Taura, clearly fate has spoken," maybe it's a reward for the attempt to appreciate the decoration when it's hard to notice anything beyond Taura, maybe it's so he'll be able to notice the shelves or whatever goes into decorating. Whatever the case, he's willing to embrace the idea of a higher power in this moment.
"It's beautiful." The room, the color, the image of Taura not wearing something. He makes a determined effort to take in a few other details. "I like the wallpaper. The whole place, it's cheerful. The sort of place you'd want to wake up in." He's not suppressing anything much any more himself, but the compliments are genuine. He appreciates a decor that leans towards colors.
Taura blossoms under the praise and the appreciation she can feel coming
off of him. She answers with mingled soft wonder over the way he looks at
her and an equally strong desire to get him out of his clothes.
"That could be arranged," she offers at the last compliment, her voice a
little lower than usual, . "Care to spend the night?"
"If we try to look around first, I don't think I'd take in much of it," he admits, "And I do want to see what you've done with the place. It's just the sort of thing that can wait a bit longer.
"It can definitely wait," Taura agrees, kissing him once more and reveling
in anticipation before tossing Fitz lightly onto the bed and following him
down.
"There's a hot tub waiting for us once we're done here," she promises as
she leans in. She supposes she doesn't need to save that as a surprise.
"But it isn't going to vanish if we take our time."
"You made the best choices in decorating." He would wonder at anyone who wouldn't go for a hot tub, if they had a chance.
He smiles up at her, full of warmth that doesn't need any outside heater. There's a lot to be said about getting to take their time, when it's something important.
