Maggie wraps him up as soon as he's through the door, face pressed against him, murmuring into his shoulder, "What do you need right now?"

"Could we just watch a film?" He doesn't want to think about stuff, and movies have always been a way to escape his own head.

"Of course, always. Just let me hold you while we do." She wants the tangible assurance he's in one piece. "Home theater, or straight to bed?"

"After spending far too long tied to a chair, I definitely pick bed." He wasn't tied to a chair that long relatively, but 'at all' when it comes to being tied to a chair and tortured is too long. He doesn't believe in being generous about it.

Maggie growls a little, low in her throat, but her grip on him deliberately doesn't tighten. He's had enough pain and discomfort.

And she keeps her voice soft when she goes back to words. "Let me just get the tea, then we can head up and I'll tuck you in somewhere soft, darling."

It's not that Fitz doesn't know that she's upset that it happened to him, but it's still nice to have a sign. He's upset, but there's a resigned bitterness to it that he can't shake. It's easy for him to stop caring - stop really caring - quickly, even though he doesn't necessarily want to.

And, at the same time, he's glad to just have her here offering the comfort of tea and bed.

"You always have the best plans."

She kisses his cheek before she heads to the kitchen for their tea. "I know. Planning how to be nice to people I care about is one of my favorite things."
