You could get more info. It's a whole thing. I believe it's described as 'learning', in some circles, but words can mean different things in different cultures.
[He smirks.] It's how people traditionally great me. What can I say? I bring it out in people.
Wow, cut me straight to the fucking bone, dude. [His tone is dry. He's definitely heard worse.]
Anyways, I feel like that other guy cheated me. I held up my end, but I still know both of you are lying. The fuck does framble his dish or what ever mean? I'm serious, it's going to bother me if I don't know.
Because you're so much more trust worthy than he is.
[He thinks maybe not, but what ever.]
Alright! Alright. Sure. I believe you. Though I think that's more of a line than a greeting and I'm pretty sure you're supposed to do the greeting first and then the line. You know, cause skipping hello is rude.
Well, the first one I ever went to, yeah. I guess getting too wasted and mistaking the guy next to you with super long hair as a woman is a removable offense?
[Hanna had in fact not won that fight. Happy twenty-first to him.]
But no. One more guess or you want me to just give it to you?
Depending on the bar that's a removable offense as a safety measure.
[He shrugs.]
I've worked in a few bars, but most of them weren't the type where people got 'banned'. Even if they went around beating up the person serving drinks [the person being 'him']. I suppose never paying your tab is the other one I could see for you, so I assume it's not that.
[Hanna is just going to let that one go. He kind of did probably look like a guy who didn't pay his tab, which...is partly true because he usually has to ask someone to buy him something in the off chance he is at a bar with someone he knows? Very rare.]
Naw, I'm not the dine and ditch sort of guy, they take that shit straight out of the servers paycheck sometimes and I'm not about to do that to someone.
Anyways, it's more I make people uncomfortable when I talk about my work? Apparently insisting that some patron's great grandmother left her a cursed amulet and needed to get that fixed was a bad move. People started throwing that 'crazy word around, which is never as fun as anyone makes it sound like.
That makes sense. Bad vibes are worse than just the guy who promises that he'll be able to pay up fully next time. You gotta maintain the right mood.
...Considering we come from different times, I suppose I do have to ask if people in your day really make it sound fun to be called crazy. Cos I can tell you that in my time no one managed to make it sound like fun.
Unless you're into people being shitty to you. I don't know if it really 'takes' all types, but all types are certainly out there.
[Hanna's face falls a little.] bad vibes is a little harsh. More like. They take it as unpredictable or maybe off my meds sort of vibe, which okay, sure. Normal people don't believe the paranormal cause they can't see it?
[He waves his hands as the camera, shifting to the next topic because he knows how that sounds. Excuses for your bad vibes usually only makes them worse.]
Anyways, there is a difference between 'oh that guy is crazy, he was in here downing shots like a machine and killing it at karaoke' and 'oh that guy? He's crazy. Talking about curses and ghosts.'
Tone is very important, but crazy can mean fun in a sort of...enthusiastic, over indulgent sort of way but that's definitely not the version of the word that gets me kicked out of bars.
I'm not saying you necessarily have bad vibes. You might - I've learned that you can't know for sure what someone's bringing to the party till you're there - but you can still bring 'em with you even if they aren't inherent, you know? The air of something no one wants to believe in.
[He raises a shoulder.]
Sometimes the tone behind 'crazy' can change, depending on what happens after you down all those shots. 'Course, you might also just be going to the wrong bars. I know plenty where talking curses and shit could get you the right sort of attention.

Yeah, it's not a traditional greeting - outside of certain circles - but that's because it means what Norton said.

As long as you're careful not to be too accurate.
