Someone only has to say 'I have something for you' and then it turns out what they have is going to drag you into five near death experiences in a row once for the phrase to sound threatening.

And it's happened at least three times.

I was going up to the deck with Foal for a run and I nearly face planted at the top of the stairs. She was completely naked and yelling at the new cat warden, and I'm...probably not the person to go ask if shes okay at the moment. [Does he sound completely embarrassed and flustered, Fitz? Cause he is.]

At most I'll be bringing his Frisbee, and maybe you'll give in to his pleading puppy eyes to throw it a few times.

[He hopes that's acceptable, but more Ethan is rather sure he wants to walk and talk for all the anxious energy he's got and pacing in Fitz's cabin might just feed the potential manic energy rather than help it.]

After Schrodinger's breakup

Ethan had lay in his bed far longer than he had in quite some time after Norton left. Sure, he'd fed Foal and Alex, but staring at the ceiling with the stars projected on the ceiling hadn't helped his heart any, finally getting up to at least take a shower.

He tries not to feel stupid as he does, recalling telling Fitz just last night that he was happy with where he was at, how things were going. It's thoughts like those that bring him to putting on comfy, loose fitting clothes and opening his bedroom door to poke his head through into Fitz's cabin. He knows it's far earlier than Fitz ever gets up, and he doesn't want to wake him, but when he confirms that there isn't someone else in his bed, he'll shut the door behind him and quietly cross the room.

Slipping under the covers wordlessly, he drapes an arm around Fitz and tries to rest until he gets up, even if he has a few hours left to go. He can wait, he just didn't want to do it alone.

Fitz wouldn't say that he's depressed to wake up without as much of a hangover as he could have had, but it's definitely proof that he could've had a far more wild New Year's than he did. He even was sober enough to hang up his suit (the trousers are hanging off the back of the chair where he tosses his clothes and the shirt has slipped onto the floor: it's basically one step away from having dried cleaned them or whatever you do with tuxedos). He mentally pours one out to the drinks he didn't pour enough of, as he goes to sit up.

At least it's still more of a 'fall out of bed' than a 'stand up without problem' situation, so his party days clearly aren't fully erased.

"Just a minute," he says, waving the hand that he failed to cover his yawn with in Ethan's direction. He still hasn't fully opened his eyes, but he doesn't need to see to know. He has to wash his face. "Tea," he waves just a vaguely, but Ethan knows where he keeps the kettle. It's vital for return to full consciousness.

Ethan doesn't exactly want to make tea, but he supposes that's the price he pays for being best friends with a British man, and he's already awake unlike Fitz. He sighs, rolling out of under the covers to fill and start the kettle.

"I didn't think you'd be up for a bit. You could sleep in, you know?" Though really, Ethan says so just because he isn't sure he's done processing and walking himself through what just happened. Whether he'd said enough, whether he'd proved he was worth the risk of hurt- he bites his lip, trying to forcibly change course of his thought process.

He's not going to cry, and working himself up about it helps nothing.
