[Over the years, a number people have accused Fitz of not thinking about the future. If he ever wanted to argue with them, he could bring up how he makes sure to fill up his flask in the lounge so 'staying in' doesn't have to mean 'being sober'.

Perhaps it's not the best argument, but Fitz still prefers waking up feeling awful because of a hangover over waking up feeling awful because of dreams (memories). It also makes the idea of going out for food beyond the crackers he keeps in his cabin unappealing. Forward thinking around, but, perhaps unfortunately for fully sober Fitz, he can reach his communicator.]

[Usually, Fitz is - if not fine with whatever people might think of the Doctor, mostly of the opinion it's better that way. He wants to talk about him, but that doesn't mean telling his secrets, and it does help, somewhat, with the urge to be defensive about him. Usually.]

he spent years looking after me through all the bullshit that happened and however it went he always tried and found me in the end made it better. he cant control the monsters but he gave up everything he had trying when he gave me a life that wasnt dying by inches with nothing and he didnt have to care. he trusts me so he doesnt have to be careful.

If somebody trusted me and I was going to ask them to do something dangerous, it'd be on me to know how dangerous the situation is and give them the information they need to get it done and get out in one piece.

If you trust him he's got a responsibility not to let you down.

But what if he thinks you can do it because he's wrong about what it is? The fault is not yours if you are facing an impossible task.

failures still failure. hes the one that can make the choices so thats how it is. when it comes down to it thats all that matters. maybe got eaten by the shadows in the end but it might at least have given an extra second

no he doesnt like traveling alone. sam said hes less real if hes alone but i think its just more fun.

So. You're not doing him any favors by thinking it's your job to do whatever he asks and he doesn't have to think about whether it's gonna get you killed.

If he's giving the orders he's the one who has to think about how dangerous they are and whether you're expendable. Otherwise, he's the one who's going to fuck up real bad and have to live with that.
